Our customer service received a typical email which was written by a new owner after her installation. The lady asked some great questions as a new owner of the Purify guru RO system, after re-editing and removing private information, Here is the Q&A.
Q: In order to get the pure water with the lowest TDS reading, what is the best way to start the RO system? Do I need to flash the filters in advance?
A: We suggest our clients to cleanse the 4th stage filter–T33 /T55 filter in advance to reduce the flashing time of the RO system. But this step is not necessary. ≤40 PPI is good for drinking, normally you will get more TDS readings which lower in the following few weeks.
Q: What’ the different between T33 and T55, Why there are 2 PP cotton filters and 1 CTO filter in the T55 set?
A:The T55 remineralizer should be used as the 4th stage filter of the RO system. And you can consider the attached 2 PP Cotton Filters and 1 carbon CTO filter as a gift. The PP cotton should take the 1st step, and the CTO should take the 2nd, nothing should change. The reference lifespan of PP cotton filter are 3 months, CTO and T55 are 6 months, therefore, one purchasing for half year supply.
Q: How will I know when to replace the filters, especially when their lives are partially dependent upon how much they are used?
A: If you using the RO system provide drinking water production for 4-6 people, the monitor direction is good for you. The monitor panel shows 4 green bars, which looks like the battery, will display changes with your long-term use. Once the RO system was beeping and one or two bars was flashing, then you known that you should replace the filters.For some of the clients’ Monthly water consumption is very big, my suggestion is testing the pure water every month and pay a little bit more attentions about any unusal phenomenons upon the RO system. Most of faults or problems was caursed by expired fliters.
Q: It appears to me that the Select and Reset buttons aren’t actually buttons. Do they require a slight pressure on them to activate them?
A: Yes, there are 2 Pressure sensors under below. a little bit pressure is good to triggle them.
5. When changing the filters, how can it be done without getting a lot of water leakage? We found that the filters were much easier to get in properly and tightly enough by turning the entire system upside down. We tried to install them when the filter was in the upright position, but it was very difficult. To reinstall them upside down however would require us to remove all of the piping, which would also create a lot of water leakage.
The correct steps to replacing the 1st and 2nd and 4th steps of filters,
- shut down the inlet water valve;
- get a container stand by;
- Unplug any tubes that prevent your replcement;
- loosen the ring of canister, and pour the water that inside the canister;
- remove the expierd filter, and put the new filter inside the canister in right position, and aim the new filter’s end to the port of RO system base.
- Tighten the ring back.
The correct steps to replacing the RO membrane without upside down the RO system,
- shut down the inlet water valve;
- get a container stand by and unplug all the tubes;
- loosen the ring of canister, and pour the water that inside the canister;
- unplug the expired membrane, push the new membrane into base, if you doing it right, you will get a feedback from the port and the end of membrane. And the membrane will hang in there and not drop even if you sway the whole RO system;
- put the white cover on the membrane, and put the canister back, tighten the ring back.
Q: How long does it take to receive replacement filters after ordering them? And Will these be out of stock?
A: ETA 2-4 days. Not longer than 7 days. We will never let these filters out of stock.
Q: How do I cleanse the filters and if we cleanse them, do they still need to be replaced?
A: All the 4 filters including the RO membrane are not available for cleanse. You can only throw them away as garbage when it’s expired.
Q: How often do we need to manually flush the system?
A: Unless you have to do it 1~3 times manually under certain circumstances like the pure water is not coming out. Otherwise the RO system will do the flushing automatically.
