What kinds of substances can the PG-400-AZ RO system deal with?
Almost everything; the core component of all RO systems is the RO membrane, which determines the quality of pure water you will get. You can google “RO membrane” to find out how magical it is.
In general, 99.99% of substances in tap water are bigger than the gap in the RO membrane. So, most substances will be purified.
1. Try to find out the quality of source water..
Ask your local water supplier for a water quality testing report or send some water to a testing organization. You should mainly concern about BPA and heavy metal ions as they are major pollutants.
2. “Hard water”.
Most underground water is so-called “hard water”, which contains too much calcium and magnesium ions and other heavy metal ions that are harmful. They will reduce the service life of the RO membrane and damage skin, fabric and electric appliances. A whole-house softener system or a softener filter could help.
3. The household RO membranes are made by special plastic. All these plastics are harmless to humen and animals.
RO membranes are typically either cellulose acetate or polysulfone coated with aromatic polyamides3. NF membranes are made from cellulose acetate blends or polyamide composites like the RO membranes, or they could be modified forms of UF membranes such as sulfonated polysulfone10. — Fundamentals of Membranes for Water Treatment
4. Under-sink space.
The Tankless RO system PG-400-AZ is a compact device, Length: 44cm(17.3in), width: 17cm(3.5in), height: 47cm(18.5in). Please make sure your kitchen undersink or the ideal place in your house has enough space for it. The accessories attached could help you fix the system unit base on the wall. Because of the pressure of pure water, the distance between the faucet and the system base should be shorter than 2m(6.5ft), and the height-difference should be shorter than 2m(6.5ft).
5. The attached free faucet is necessary.
The dual water mode, pure water and primary filtrated water, depends on connection of the faucet. Just remember when you get the pure water, you will hear the pump noise. Some of the stainless steel sinks has 2 holes, one for the tap water faucet, which you don’t need to do anything with that; the hole for the soap dispenser is the one you can insert the RO system faucet in it, and the diameter of the hole should be bigger than 3.2cm(1.26in).
6. The diameter of tap water pipe under your house kitchen.
The most common pipes are “20mm-1/2″tube”, and the diameter of the attached inlet source water valve is adopting. If your kitchen pipe is 16mm-3/8″ tube, You can purchasing a different valve on Amazon.
7. The drain water.
The drain water is useless and pls don’t collect it. We couldn’t help and provide any solutions for this idea. Based on the quality of tap water in different house, the capatity of drain water is different, the worse the tap water, the bigger capacity of drain water.
8. Certifications.
The core component of all RO systems is the RO membrane, which determines the quilty of pure water you will get. We don’t have any certifucation on PG-400-AZ RO system. The RO membrane of PG-400-AZ is made by DOW material, which was certificated by NSF. Only the quality of pure water could let you know which RO system is good or not.
9. What’s the TDS reading?
Total Dissolved Solids is a measure of the dissolved combined content of all inorganic and organic substances present in a liquid in molecular, ionized, or micro-granular (colloidal sol) suspended form. TDS concentrations are often reported in parts per million (ppm). Water TDS concentrations can be determined using a digital meter. — Wikipedia
20ppm tds reading water means: There are 20mg(0.0007oz) non-water substance in 1L(0.22gal) water.
